L'Ametlla de Mar

Why people retire here

L’Ametlla de Mar has kept what many coastal towns have lost: a working fishing port with a daily auction, narrow streets around the harbour and restaurants where the menu depends on that morning’s catch. The town is also home to one of the Mediterranean’s leading bluefin tuna companies.

Around the town, the coastline breaks into dozens of small coves of rock and pine, linked by a coastal path. Behind them sit the urbanisations, with detached villas, gardens and pools, often with sea views. Many of their residents are retirees from northern Europe and France.

What we can show you here

We don't publish every property we handle. Because we work with realistic prices and a small number of homes, they sell fast — and part of our portfolio is private and never goes online. Tell us what you're looking for and we'll let you know as soon as something fits.

Two ways to buy with us

We always tell you which side we're on

Buying abroad is easier when you know exactly who your agent is working for. With us there are two clear ways to work — and you always know which one applies.

A home from our portfolio

We act for the seller and the seller pays our fee. You pay no agency fee.

That doesn’t mean you’re on your own. As registered estate agents (AICAT 13635) we give you complete legal security: we check the land registry record, the planning status and any outstanding debts, we draft the contracts and we go with you to the notary.

Part of our portfolio is private and is only shown in person.

We search for you

You hire us as your buyer’s agent, a personal shopper for property. We look across the whole market, including other agencies’ listings and homes that are never advertised. We visit and filter on your behalf, check every document and negotiate the price for you.

Here you pay our fee, and we work only for you.

We never charge both sides. The law and our professional code of ethics don’t allow it, and we wouldn’t want it anyway. Depending on what you end up buying, our fee is paid by one party or the other, never by both. And if, while we’re searching for you, you fall for a home from our own portfolio, we tell you straight away and you buy it with the same legal guarantees as a registered agency.
Holiday letting

Enjoy it when you're here. Let it when you're not.

Many of our clients spend part of the year here and the rest back home. While you’re away, your home can earn its keep. We manage holiday apartments in La Ràpita and the Ebro Delta every day: listing, pricing, check-ins, cleaning, maintenance and the official paperwork.

An important condition. Holiday letting needs a tourist-use licence (HUT). In many towns of the Terres de l’Ebre a prior planning licence is required and the number of licences is capped. Letting is therefore subject to the town not having reached its licence cap and to the property meeting the requirements. We check this for the specific property before you commit, never after.
